Job Requirements

What to Expect from Working as a Dental Hygienist

Our affiliates require a licensed Dental Hygienist committed to serving the dental care needs of their community. Job duties include performing dental hygiene procedures, assisting the dentist, educating patients on available dental options, managing the soft tissue dental program, explaining home dental care procedures to patients and providing comforting, sympathetic patient care. The successful Dental Hygienist candidate needs to possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, a thorough knowledge of dentistry and dental hygiene, exceptional human relation skills and an outgoing, friendly personality with patients and dental team members. The Dental Hygienist position is [full-time or part-time], and compensation is based on experience.

Other Job Requirements of the Dental Hygienist:

  • Associate Degree is Required
  • Ability to set up and prepare dental equipment and instruments
  • Excellent understanding of overall dentistry and dental hygienist procedures and protocols
  • Superior communication and patient care skills
  • Knowledge of dental patient screening and medical history documentation
  • Dentrix computer experience a plus
